Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Clip Caddie, operated by Ben Boyle (“we,” “our,” or “us”) at clipcaddie.com. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.

The service

Clip Caddie is a personal golf instruction library and practice journal. You can save video URLs, organize them with tags and timestamps, and log your practice sessions and lessons. We provide the service on a subscription basis with a limited free tier.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Clip Caddie.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide a valid email address. We use it for account management and digest emails.
  • One account per person. Do not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
  • Notify us immediately at support@clipcaddie.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Free tier and paid subscription

Free tier

The free tier is available indefinitely with the following limits: 25 saved videos, 5 favorites, and 15 journal entries. Free users can use core library and journaling features within these limits.

Pro subscription

Pro is available at $8/month or $72/year (billed annually). Pro includes unlimited videos, favorites, and journal entries, plus collections, practice analytics, and other Pro-only features.

  • Billing: subscriptions renew automatically. You will be charged at the start of each billing period.
  • Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from Account → Manage Subscription. You retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
  • Downgrade: when your Pro subscription ends, your account reverts to free tier limits. Your existing data is preserved — you can view it but cannot add more until you’re within free tier limits or re-subscribe.
  • Refunds: we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the service, contact us and we’ll make it right.
  • Price changes: we’ll give at least 30 days notice before changing subscription prices, via email and in-app notice.

Your content

Your journal entries, notes, tags, and other content you create in Clip Caddie (“Your Content”) remain yours. We don’t claim ownership of Your Content.

You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process Your Content solely to provide the service to you. We do not use Your Content for advertising, AI training, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

You are responsible for the content you save. Clip Caddie is a link-saving tool — we store URLs, not video files. You are responsible for ensuring your use of third-party video content complies with the terms of the platforms where that content lives (YouTube, Instagram, etc.).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the service using automated means.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
  • Create accounts by automated means or under false pretenses.
  • Use the service to store or transmit malicious code.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity.

Cady AI assistant

Clip Caddie includes an AI-powered assistant called Cady, available to all users subject to daily message limits (free: 10 messages/day, Pro: 150 messages/day). Cady is designed exclusively for golf-related use: logging practice sessions, lessons, and rounds, and discussing your golf improvement within Clip Caddie.

You agree not to:

  • Use Cady for any purpose unrelated to golf or your Clip Caddie data.
  • Attempt to circumvent Cady’s topic restrictions through prompt manipulation, jailbreaking, or similar techniques.
  • Use Cady as a general-purpose AI assistant at the expense of the service.
  • Submit automated, scripted, or artificially inflated messages to Cady.

Misuse of Cady may result in account suspension. We monitor for unusual usage patterns and reserve the right to revoke AI assistant access without refund for accounts that abuse the feature.

Intellectual property

The Clip Caddie name, logo, design, and software are our intellectual property. You may not use them without permission. Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to our intellectual property other than the right to use the service as described here.

Disclaimers

Clip Caddie is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

Clip Caddie is a personal organization tool. We make no claims about improving your golf game. Any improvement is the result of your own practice and effort.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clip Caddie and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Data and privacy

Your use of Clip Caddie is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent — all your data is removed from our systems.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. For non-severe violations, we’ll generally give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue first.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Illinois.
